Institutional Advancement

BREAK THROUGH THE NOISE

One of the greatest challenges for every nonprofit organization is sustaining its mission. You know why the work you do is so important, but how do you convince others to support it?

One of the greatest challenges for every nonprofit organization is sustaining its mission. You know why the work you do is so important, but how do you convince others to support it?

Underlying every successful fundraising effort is masterful storytelling. And that’s where Relatable Communications Group shines.

Relatable Communications Group CEO Nancy Kinnally has helped raise millions of dollars for causes ranging from civil legal aid to economic development to medical education. She has written compelling donor profiles and feature stories to illustrate the human impact of the work nonprofits do, designed effective fundraising appeals and campaigns, and researched and written multi-million-dollar grant applications that were fully funded.

Through Relatable Communications Group, Nancy collaborates with some of Florida’s best professional fundraisers and grant writers to provide a full range of institutional advancement services.

THE RESULTS

Case Study: Promoting a Multi-Marathon Fundraiser

As marketing and public relations consultants for Jacksonville Area Legal Aid (JALA), Relatable Communications Group supports the organization’s fundraising efforts with targeted communications, including e-newsletters and appeals, social media campaigns, and print advertising. One of JALA’s principal fundraising campaigns, a six-marathon event known as Freed to Run, benefits the Northeast Florida Medical Legal Partnership, through which lawyers help pediatric patients and their families overcome legal and economic barriers to child wellness. Relatable Communications Group worked hand-in-hand with JALA on the campaign, which included e-mail appeals, social media, multiple press releases, feature writing and advertising.

Freed to Run raised more than $400,000 in 2018 to endow the medical-legal partnership and has set an overall goal to raise $2.25 million in five years. As a result of the social media campaign, JALA’s Twitter impressions more than tripled in Q4 2018 over the Q4 2017, and Facebook post reach increased dramatically.

“Relatable Communications Group was incredibly instrumental in making Freed to Run a success and has brought JALA to a higher level of communications and social media exposure.”
