Marketing New Website for Parents of Kids with Special Needs

Background

When the Florida Justice Technology Center (FJTC) was preparing to launch Turning18.org, a new online guide for families of children with special needs who are nearing the legal age of adulthood, the organization called on Relatable Communications group to devise a statewide strategic communications campaign to market the new site to potential users.

THE RESULTS

In less than two months, Relatable Communications Group created and implemented a multi-pronged strategy that included researching and identifying hundreds of targeted contacts in the media and at organizations serving the relevant population; a press release coupled with pitches to reporters and editors; and the development and placement of articles in targeted publications.

The campaign generated coverage in family and legal publications and major Florida daily newspapers, including The Florida Bar News, The Palm Beach Post, The Florida Times Union and Miami Kids Magazine. It also generated positive feedback from parents who were thrilled to learn about the new site, as well as great reviews from FJTC.

“I would definitely use Relatable Communications Group again. They made the process very easy, got tangible results, and they made sure all the coverage was accurate and on point. If I ever need a media blitz of any sort, I know who to call.”
